  • Another 94 Men Complete Training, Join SF


    A batch of 94 recruits who were trained at Gemunu Watch Training School Diyathalawa passed out after completion of their training recently (01). These soldiers folowed their course of basic training at Gemunu Watch Diyathalawa, joined the Special Forces in May this year.   • -œTour De Sri Lanka Youth- First Three Slots Go To Army Cyclists

    Cyclists representing the Sri Lanka Army in the “Tour De Sri Lanka Youth”, the mega cycling event of the year, organized by The National Youth Services Council clinched all first three places in the entire race. Lance Corporal Lakshman Wijerathne bagged the first place by finishing the 366 Km in 08:24:32 hours while second and third places were secured by Lance Corporal Dileepa Prabath and Private Sameera Chathuranga respectively.

  • Chinese Army General Arrives Bolstering Existing Military Relations Further


    General Ma Xiaotian, Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA), who has arrived here together with a seven-member military delegation on a goodwill visit, called on the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya Tuesday (13) morning at the Army Headquarters. A Guard of Honour, accorded by Sri Lanka Armoured Corps troops of the Sri Lanka Army on arrival at the Ministry of Defence grounds, greeted the visiting Chinese General to the Army Headquarters complex, in accordance with ceremonial military formalities.
