  • Workshop on Human Rights Conducted for Wanni Officers


    Mr. Loide Kilade, Managing Director and the Chief Consultant of the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) - Colombo conducted a workshop on Human Rights to among the officers at the Security Force Headquarters-Wanni (SFHQ-W) on Tuesday (24) at the Security Force Headquarters auditorium.
     
     
  • Prime Minister Stops Over at Kilinochchi-SFHQ


    Prime Minister Hon. Ranil Wickremesinghe visited the Security Force Headquarters – Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) on Sunday (29) during his tour in the North. Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, SFHQ-KLN welcomed the Prime Minister on his arrival.

  • Indonesian Embassy Envoys Call at SFHQ-MLT


    A few diplomats from the Embassy of Indonesia, Sri Hartanti, Kustiningish, Minister Counsellor, Tram Mile, Third Secretary and Prima Adinda Minardi of non Diplomatic Staff arrived at the Security Force Headquarters- Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) to meet Commander, SFHQ-MLT on Thursday (26).
     
  • Army Troops Join Hands to Fight Against Dengue Epidemic


    Security Force Headquarters-West (SFHQ-West) at the request of Health Ministry, is currently conducting a Dengue Prevention Program in Colombo, Matara, Rathnapura, Kegalle, Kurunegala and Puttalam districts with the participation of more than 400 troops serving the SFHQ-West. The project (March 26 - April 1), coordinated through the Office of Chief of Defence Staff (OCDS) is closely monitored by Major General U.A.B. Medawela, Commander, SFHQ - West.

    The change-over of the President’s ceremonial guard at the President’s House and the Temple Trees from Sri Lanka Air Force to Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police(SLCMP), took place this morning (1) at a brief ceremony in front of the President’s House at Colombo Fort.
  • Troops, Camps Remain in North - Army Commander


    In his first newspaper interview with our sister paper Silumina, the newly-appointed Army Commander, Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva, said that the troops deployed in the North have not been withdrawn as well as the military camps. Pledging to raise the professional standards of the Sri Lanka Army to new heights, the Commander said that safeguarding territorial sovereignty was of paramount importance and promised to to take all measures to prevent the resurgence of militancy in the North.

  • SFHQ-West Inaugurates Computer Course


    Security Force Headquarters-West (SFHQ-West) with the motive of further expanding knowledge on Information Technology (IT) among troops serving the SFHQ-West commenced a basic Computer course for troops of the 14 and 58 Divisions with the support of “Future Step IT Solution Pvt Ltd” at the 14 Division Headquarters on Monday (30).
  • Late Civil Staffers at HQ Battalion Transferred Merits in New Initiative at AHQ


    Headquarters Battalion (HQ Battalion) at the Army Headquarters, showing noble sentiments of gratitude and concern towards invaluable service roles, performed by late civil staffers in the Army, launched a novel project to invoke merits on two of their erstwhile civil employees during an alms-giving (Sangeeka Daana), held at the Army Headquarters on Thursday (2).
