  • Commander Addressing Kilinochchi Troops Scoffs at International Allegations Against Army & Country

    Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, Commander of the Army with the express intention of keeping the ground troops informed of international moves as well as evaluating ongoing Army nation-building assignments, visited the Security Force Headquarters-Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) and both 66 and 65 Division Headquarters on Monday (4).   • Cornerstone for New Officers' Mess Building Laid

     
    Security Force Headquarters-Wanni (SFHQ-W) on Monday (4) during a brief ceremony inaugurated the construction of a much-needed officers’ mess building, instead of the existing old one. Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, SFHQ-W at the auspicious 6.55 a.m. laid the foundation-stone for the construction, amidst blessings of ‘Seth Pirirth’ of the Maha Sangha.
     
  • Medical Specialists Treat Civilians in Mullaittivu

     
    A team of medical specialists, organized by the 643 Brigade Headquarters at Muthiyankaddukulam, Mullaittivu arrived in Mullaittivu a few days ago and conducted a mobile medical clinic at Oddusuddan Karipattamurippu government mixed school. Over 250 patients with dental, visual, skin and physical complications and diseases received treatment from medical specialists.....
     
  • SVAB Ladies Mark Int'l Women's Day with a Workshop


    The Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB), marking the International Women’s Day, conducted a workshop on Beauty Culture and Cookery at the Army Physical Training School gymnasium in Panagoda on Saturday (9). Mrs Suvineeta Kotelawala, a veteran in these fields conducted different practical sessions and enlightened the attendees throughout the workshop.  
  • Kilinochchi Marks International Women's Day with Different Programmes


    Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi in collaboration with 65, 66 and 57 Divisions launched several separate projects on Friday (8) on account of ‘International Women’s Day’. A lecture on ‘Women’s Rights and Law Related to Violence Against Women’ delivered on that day at ‘Don Bosco’ lecture hall in the 651 Brigade area, educated 135 Tamil women living in the area.

    Ambassador for Thailand in Sri Lanka, Mr Muwan on Friday (8) visited Kilinochchi area and met Major General Udaya Perera, Security Force Commander - Kilinochchi for a cordial discussion. Major General Perera during the meeting briefed him on various development projects and different humanitarian community oriented work...... 
  • Students in 522 Brigade Area Get Gift Parcels


    People’s Bank Buddhist Association, extending its services towards northern students donated school accessories to 170 selected children during a ceremony on Friday (8) at Usan Ramanadan Vidyalayam in Jaffna. The recipients, who had done very well in studies, received these gift parcels from the Secretary, People’s Bank Buddhist Association, Mr Preethi Kolonnage, General Officer Commanding, 52 Division.....
