  • Wadduwa Holiday Resort Now Offers 4 Star Class Rooms with New Wings

    The Army-owned, Wadduwa Holiday Resort, the popular venue for Army associated social gatherings and military weddings, became further equipped with additional wings on Saturday (16), elevating it to the status of a fully-fledged coastal hotel. The new three-storied building at Wadduwa, erected by 4th Engineer Service Regiment officers and soldiers at a cost of about Rs 120 million, houses twenty  new air-conditioned luxury rooms, two rooms specially designed for disable War Heroes, a spacious dining restaurant for eighty guests with bar facilities, newly designed reception counter plus many other facilities and features.

    Kids from the Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB) managed Panagoda ‘Viru Kekulu’, Manning Town ‘Viru Kekulu’ pre-schools and ‘Senehasa’ pre-school for children with special needs, had their annual concert that showcased their skills and artistic talents at Colombo 3, Mahanama College auditorium Friday (15) evening. 

  • Defence Services Boxing Team Wins Seven Bronze Medals in USA

    The Sri Lankan Combined Defence Services Boxing Team won 7 Bronze medals at the 53rd International Military Boxing Championship which was hosted in USA. The Defence Services team comprised of nine boxers (3 Soldiers, 3 Sailors and 3 Airmen) who took part in the meet which was held from the 10th to the 17th of October.  The team won 7 bronze medals in the Championship with two bronze by the soldiers....

  • SAARC School Cadets Greet Commander

    A 28-member-team of school cadets from SAARC countries, now in Sri Lanka as part of their annual routine, interacted with the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya when they visited the Army Headquarters on Monday (18). Those school cadets from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal during their stay in Sri Lanka are expected to visit the National Cadet Corps at Rantembe and attend the competition for Herman Loose trophy among Sri Lankan cadets.
