    The year's flagship in the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA), the 7th "Gunner Supercross" at Minneriya Artillery Complex tracks kicked off on Sunday (8) to a packed record crowd of more than 25,000 - 30,000 motor racing fans. Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya together with his spouse, Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya, President, Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB) witnessed the exciting event as the Chief Guest.

    Reflecting deep sense of thoughtfulness, goodwill, sensitivities and harmonious existence, both Sri Jayawardenepura University Students and Staff as well as Army troops, serving the 22 Division of the Security Force Headquarters-East on Sunday (13), accomplished the national obligation of constructing a new spacious three-bed room house to the family of slain teenager, Rizana Nafeeq who flew to Saudi Arabia to get that dream fulfilled before her tragic fate on January 9, 2013.

    Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment (SLA), during its 123rd anniversary commemoration ceremony on Wednesday (20) at the Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda recalled the vivid memories of their fallen War Heroes with dignity and honour. The day’s agenda got to a start soon after the arrival of the chief guest, Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, Commander of the Army for the ceremony.

  • One More LTTE Thermo Baric Weapon Found

    WANNI/EAST/NORTH: A stock of T-56 weapons and a large number of anti personnel mines were recovered by the Task Force-VIII troops conducting search and clear operations in PUTHUKUDIYIRUPPU area on Tuesday (18). Fifty T-56 weapons and eight thousand and sixteen anti personnel mines haphazardly laid by the LTTE during their presence in those areas to trap the advancing troops were unearthed on Tuesday (18). Meanwhile, search and clear operations in the same area and also ADAMPAN, AMPAKAMAM, and KUDUMBIMALE areas.....

  • Kilinochchi Course on Accounts Ends Successfully

    The two-month long training course on Accounts for soldiers serving all units at the Security Force Headquarters-Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN), ended on Thursday (26).
