  • Lak Sathosa in Jaffna, a dream come true - Minister Douglas Devananda

    A BRANCH of a Lak Sathosa was opened in Jaffna on July 28, by Social Services and Social Welfare Minister Douglas Devananda, and Trade, Marketing Development, Co-operatives and Consumer Services Minister Bandula Gunawardana. Devananda said he untiringly made every endeavour for making available the essential and other commodities at a price in a par with the Colombo prices and that his long cherished dream has now come true, through the opening of a Lak Sathosa outlet.

  • New Air Force Commander Calls on Army Commander

  • Army Commander Reviews New Developments in Vanni

    COMMANDER of the Army Lieutenant General Sarath Fonseka, along with a few Senior Officers of the Army Headquarters, flew to Vavuniya to review the latest developments of the security situation in Vanni areas. Army Commander, after being received by Commander Security Forces Headquarters Wanni (SFHQ-W) Major General Jagath Jayasuriya, was conducted to the SFHQ auditorium where he met senior ground commanders and discussed the present security situation in Vanni. He also issued further instructions to his ground commanders.
