    Curtains came down on the three-day sessions of the ‘Defence Seminar-2012’ at Colombo Galadari Hotel on Friday (10) noon, providing its 270 plus participants, including 116 foreign delegates of 44 countries with an ocean of knowledge on roles and tasks that have been accomplished by the Army in spheres like Reconstruction, Resettlement, Rehabilitation, Reintegration and Reconciliation (5Rs).

    The most-awaited Sri Lanka Army Para Games - 2012, the year’s platform for more than 1000 differently able War Heroes to showcase their multiple talents in track and field sports events, together with other internationally-recognized sportsmen, kicked off on Tuesday (14) evening at Diyagama Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium. Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, Commander of the Army as the Chief Guest read out the official declaration of commencement of the Army Para Games - 2012 soon after all athletes took the formal oath after lighting the symbolic Olympic Torch and hoisting respective flags.

  • Awareness on Oral Health Care Highlighted in 663 Organized Medical Clinic


    A team of Medical Officers on oral health from Mulankavil Government Hospital at the request of the Army recently conducted a dental clinic at remote Selyathivu Tamil Mixed School with a view to educating the public on importance of oral health care. The clinic, organized by troops of the 663 Brigade Headquarters on the instructions of the Commander, 663 Brigade Headquarters, drew over 50 civilians from the area and educated the attendees on importance of dental care and oral hygiene.
