The Directorate of Media and Psychological Operations, under the guidance of Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, the Commander of the Army, organized a workshop on ‘Mirrorless Camera and Video Camera Technology’ on 21 February 2024 at Sri Lanka Signal Corps, Panagoda.
In collaboration with Metropolitan Technologies (Pvt) Ltd, this initiative aimed to equip 35 soldiers from various media involved Regiments with the latest knowledge and practical skills in using mirrorless and video cameras. The workshop covered theoretical aspects of camera technology, video camera technology, and provided a comprehensive practical session on camera handling. This interactive session allowed the troops to address their practical challenges and refine their techniques.
The event was graced by Major General K.A.N Rasika Kumara ndc psc, Director General of the Directorate of Media and Psychological Operations and Mr. Taslim Rahaman, Director of Metropolitan Technologies (Pvt) Ltd. Together, they awarded certificates to participants, recognizing their successful completion of the workshop.
Mr. Praveen Samarakoon, Mr. Prasanga Rathnayake, Mr. Roshan Fernando and well expertise of Metropolitan Technologies (Pvt) Ltd conducted the lectures and practical session.
Brigadier S.J.K.D Jayawardena USP psc, Center Commandant of SLSC Regimental Center, Senior Officers, Officers and representatives from the Metropolitan Technologies (Pvt) Ltd, Mr.Suresh Herath ,General Manager, Mr. Preveen Samarakoon, Vice President - Retail Sector and Ms. Nadeeka De Fonseka, Assistant Manager-Tenders, Mr. Prasanga Rathnayake and Staff members of Metropolitan Technologies (Pvt) Ltd participated in the workshop.
