Troops of 15 Sri Lanka Light Infantry partnered with the Hamidiya Sports Club organized a Football Tournament from 8 to 11 February 2024 at the Mollipothana Hamidiya ground. The event aimed to strengthen civil-military cooperation and nurture young sporting talents in the area.
Thirty football teams enthusiastically participated in the competition and the Kinniya 'Noha' football team emerged triumphant, capturing the championship title amidst spirited competition.
Major General P.A.M Peiris RSP USP psc, the General Officer Commanding of the 22 Infantry Division, graced the tournament as the chief guest and presented trophies to the deserving winning teams.
Brigadier Y.H.P Rangajeewa USP, Commander, 223 Infantry Brigade, along with Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and civilians from the area witnessed the tournament.
