Troops of 7 Sri Lanka Engineers (7 SLE) successfully improvised a crumbling bridge in Dambulla Galwetiya area on Sunday (04 Feb). This vital pathway serves as the main access point for over 1,000 residents in the vicinity.
The project was conducted under the guidance of Chief Field Engineer, Major General S.A Kulatunge RWP RSP VSV USP psc and the Commander of the Engineer Division, Major General D.K.S.K Dolage USP psc. Their swift actions were initiated upon notification of the bridge's critical condition to Hon. Premitha Bandara Tennakoon, the State Minister of Defence. Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, the Commander of the Army, responded promptly to improvise the bridge.
The State Minister of Defense visited the site on the same day and commended the decisive actions undertaken by the 7 SLE troops. Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks were also present, demonstrating the collaborative effort behind this successful project.
