Troops of 582 Infantry Brigade, with the support of a group of donors, organized a welfare program to distribute school accessory packs to 50 needy students studying at Wavulagala Primary School, Horana. Additionally, another 50 students belonging to Army and civilian staff serving in the 582 Infantry Brigade also benefited from the initiative at the Brigade premises on 25 January 2024.
The project was conducted under the guidance of Brigadier S.W.R Prasanna RWP RSP USP, Commander, 582 Infantry Brigade. Major General H.D.W.K.N Eriyagama RWP RSP, General Officer Commanding, 58 Infantry Division, graced the occasion as the chief guest.
The school aid packs included exercise books and other necessary accessories for the academic year 2024. Senior Officers, Officers, and representatives of donors, namely Dr. Jinanjala Shanika Wijegunasekara, Mr. Ravi Perera, Mrs. Kawshalya Thilakarathne, Mr. Udula Selakara, and Mrs. Danushka Weerasinghe, were also present during the event.
