Courtesy Visits Conducted by SF-Jaffna Commander

The newly appointed Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna (SF-J), Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, engaged in courtesy visits within the region. On 01 February 2024, he met with the District Secretary (DS) of Jaffna, Mr. A. Sivabalasundaran, at his office.

During the meeting, the DS expressed gratitude for the Army's significant role in constructing over 700 houses for resettled families. He also sought continued military support for future essential needs. The DS commended the Army for its cooperation in preventing illegal activities and conflicts in the area. Before concluding the visit, Commander, SF-J presented a special token of appreciation to the DS.

On the same day, Commander, SF-J extended a courtesy visit to receive blessings from Ven. Meegahajandure Siri Wimala Thero, the Chief Incumbent of Sri Nagavihara. Additionally, on 02 February 2024, at the invitation of Rev. Justin Bernard Gnanapragasam, Bishop of Jaffna, the Commander, SF-J held discussions with him at the Bishop’s House to assess the current situation in the region.

The presence of General Officer Commanding, 51 Infantry Division, Major General S.W.B Welagedara RSP VSV USP ndc and Senior Officers of SF-J added significance to these events.
