The military funeral of Warrant Officer 1 A.K Ramanadan (Rtd) of the Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) took place following Hindu rituals on Friday (26 January) at Avarangal General Cemetery in Jaffna.
Warrant Officer 1 A.K Ramanadan (Rtd) was born on 29 August 1938 and received education from Sri Somaskanda College, Puttur, Jaffna. Having joined the Army on 14 November 1958, this veteran soldier served the nation as a proud Sri Lankan citizen and received the best compliments from Officers and Other Ranks of SLEME for his dedication and loyalty during the period.
He succeeded to the appointment of the fourth Regimental Sergeant Major of Regimental Centre SLEME prior to his retirement. Senior Army Officers and civil community members in the area were also present to pay the last tribute to Warrant Officer.
