Based on the information provided by the Military Intelligence Corps of the Sri Lanka Army, Gonaganara Police Station successfully seized 220 Kg of cannabis in the Yala Forest Reserve area on 21 January 2024.
Following the seizure, all 220 Kg of the captured cannabis were promptly destroyed at the site. The Gonanara Police Station, leading the investigation, apprehended suspects connected to the illegal activity and further investigations are currently underway.
