Troops of Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna Salute Outgoing Jaffna Commander

Major General S.R.K Hettiarachchi RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc, who held the office of the Commander of Security Forces - Jaffna, relinquished the appointment on 13 January 2024, before retiring from the Sri Lanka Army after completing over 35 years of illustrious service. Before leaving Jaffna, the outgoing Commander paid official visits to the 51, 52, and 55 Infantry Divisions to address troops and extend courtesies. He expressed gratitude to all ranks serving in the respective formations for maintaining high standards of professionalism during his tenure and for their committed service in maintaining a peaceful environment in the Jaffna peninsula.

In accordance with military traditions, a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour took place at the Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna premises, where the troops of 3 Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps saluted him as a formality. This marked the end of his tenure in Jaffna, concluding with the signing of the official handing-over document at the office premises.

Afterward, the outgoing Commander was invited to pose for a group photograph before addressing the troops. The day's proceedings concluded with partaking of refreshments with all ranks.
