Troops of 16 Gajaba Regiment (16 GR) and the Sri Lanka Navy conducted a joint training exercise on Thursday (11 January 2024), focusing on securing the Lakvijaya Thermal Power Plant in Norochcholai.
The exercise was conducted under the guidance of Major General S.W.M Fernando WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, Commander, Security Forces – West, and under the supervision of the General Officer Commanding of 14 Infantry Division, the Commander of the 143 Infantry Brigade, and the Commanding Officer of 16 GR.
In addition to the power plant exercise, the troops practiced further security measures, engaging in cordon and search operations in collaboration with the Police.
