Major General W.L.A.C Perera RWP RSP USP, Director General of Directorate of Movement who promoted to the rank of Major General was felicitated at the Regimental Centre Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR), Ambepussa on 12 January 2024.
According to military traditions, Deputy Centre Commandant of SLSR, welcomed the Chief Guest and invited him to review the Guard Turnout at the main entrance. Afterwards, he was accompanied by Centre Commandant of SLSR to receive the salute of the Guard of Honour. After a while, he was invited to plant a sapling to mark the significant day.
A floral tribute was then paid at the War Heroes Monument to honor the valiant Officers and Other Ranks of the SLSR who made the ultimate sacrifice for motherland.
Later in the day, he has joined all ranks for refreshments where he shared a few thoughts with the attendees.
A special memento was presented to Major General W.L.A.C Perera RWP RSP USP by Major General W.P.A.D.W Nanayakkara RSP VSV USP ndu, Commander Security Force (Wanni) and Colonel of the Regiment SLSR in honor of the well-deserved promotion to the prestigious position of Major General.
