The continuation of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment's (SLLI) housing project for Army personnel and their families resulted in the construction of one more house for a deserving SLLI soldier. The project, a conceptual notion was proposed by the former Colonel of the Regiment. The new house, located in Eppawala, Pahala Maragaswewa, Nochchiyagama was handed over to a deserving Non-Commissioned Officer from the 11 SLLI Regiment on Saturday (30 December).
Major General S.R.K Hettiarachchi RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc, Colonel of the SLLI Regiment and Commander of Security Forces-Jaffna, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Under the guidance of the Commanding Officer, the 11 SLLI troops provided manpower and technical assistance for the construction of the new house. Mrs. Uthpala Hettiarachchi, Chairperson of the SLLI Seva Vanitha Branch, along with Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks participated in the house-warming ceremony.
