General Officer Commanding (GOC), 21 Infantry Division, Major General I.A.N.B Perera RWP USP ndu psc, made an official visit to 9 and 5 (V) Gajaba Regiment on 13 December 2023 to identify the existing issues of the battalion’s operational, logistic and administrative matters.
During each visit, the Commanding Officers of the respective battalion warmly received the visiting GOC. Afterwards, Commanding Officers conducted a comprehensive briefing regarding their present role and tasks before the GOC addressed the troops of each battalion.
Following his address, the GOC visited the camp premises and had a cordial interaction with troops and gave away the necessary direction to Commanding Officers to enhance the smooth functioning of battalions.
Prior to the GOC's official visit, a panel of Staff Officers from the 21 Infantry Division, under the GOC's guidance and instructions, conducted an administrative inspection in the respective battalions. This inspection aimed to identify and rectify any operational, logistical, and administrative issues within the battalions.
