Sinha Regiment Bids Farewell to Outgoing Colonel of the Regiment

Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) troops arranged a formal ceremony to bid farewell to the former Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, Colonel of the Regiment Sinha Regiment, Major General U.D Wijesekera RWP RSP USP rcds psc on Saturday (30 Dec) at Regimental Center, Ambepussa.

In accordance with military traditions, a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour were accorded before he marked the end of his tenure by signing the official handing-over document at the office premises.

Prior to his departure, the outgoing Colonel of the Regiment saluted the fallen war heroes at the Sinha Regiment ‘War Heroes’ monument and offered his gratitude to all ranks serving in respective SLSR establishments for committed service, rendered to maintain the standard and subculture of the SLSR organization during his office.

Adding memories to the day, the outgoing Colonel of the Regiment was invited to pose for a group photograph and plant a sapling in the premises. Summing up the series of events, all Council Members, Senior Officers and Officers hosted a farewell dinner to him with the participation of their spouses in honour of the outgoing Colonel of the Regiment in the same evening.
