The newly-renovated banquet hall, 'Casa de la Playa', the beach house at the Laya Beach Wadduwa was re-opened for the public during the inauguration of the Laya Hotel Food festival on Thursday (21). Major General W.H.K.S Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndu, Chief of Staff of the Army as the Chief Guest declared it open during the same occasion.
The transformation of 'Casa de la Playa' into a resplendent banquet hall was the brainchild of Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army who wanted the venue be designed to meet with the highest standards of elegance and service to the guests.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of senior officers, accompanied by their spouses, as well as officers, other ranks, and representatives from the media.
