116 students of Miriswaththa Primary Tamil School and Palliyagoda Primary Tamil School in Kalutara were the recipients of Army-coordinated gift packs of school accessories on Monday (18 December 2023).
This initiative was undertaken by the 61 Infantry Division, 612 Infantry Brigade and 20 Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry (20 SLLI) with the sponsorship, provided by CEAT Tyre company at the request of the Army.
Each school accessory pack, valued more than Rs. 10,000/= included a school bag, school shoes, stationery, lunch boxes, water bottles and reading materials.
The occasion was attended by General Officer Commanding, 61 Infantry Division, Commander 612 Infantry Brigade, Commanding Officer 20 SLLI, officials from CEAT Tyre company, teachers, parents and students.
