Troops serving the Security Force HQ - Central repeated their contribution to public service once again when they rushed to clear another railway track blockage near Haputale Railway Station due to an earth slip on Tuesday (19 Dec).
As a result, train operations remained disrupted for hours. Following a short notice, troops under the Security Force Headquarters - Central proceeded to the affected area and restored the train operations after clearing the soil mound.
Meanwhile, the Quick Reaction Rider team of the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C) was quick to clear a fallen jack tree on the Welimada - Avissawella main road near the 6th mile post at Mirahawatta on Tuesday (19 Dec) due to continuing rainy weather conditions in the area.
Accordingly, troops, together with officials of the Disaster Management Center and civilians in the area cleared the road and facilitated the resumption of transportation of the road within hours.
