Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) bade formal farewell to the retiring Brigadier M.G.W Wimalasena RSP and Brigadier A.M.S.D.B Adikari RSP upon completion of their dedicated services of more than three decades of 3 years to the organization. Respectively in a fitting ceremony which took place on 14 December 2023 at Regimental Centre, Ambepussa.
In a fitting ceremony at SLSR Regimental HQ both of them were saluted separately in military honours, a Guard Turnout and a parade.
After a while, retiring Brigadiers made floral tributes to the SLSR War Heroes’ monument and saluted the memory of fallen War Heroes as a part of the day's agenda.
Later on, the retiring Senior Officers joined the All Rank tea and interacted with All Ranks before they gathered for a group photo, followed by a formal lunch reception.
Similarly, special mementos were presented to the outgoing Brigadier M.G.W Wimalasena RSP and Brigadier A.M.S.D.B Adikari RSP by Major General U.D Wijesekara RWP RSP USP rcds psc, Commandant Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and Colonel of the Regiment SLSR as a symbolic appreciation of their dedicated and committed services to the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment.
The retiring Senior Officers spoke to all Officers gathered there and expressed their gratitude for the assistance and the support given by all in carrying out entrusted duties as members of the ‘Sinha’ family.
Meanwhile, Chairperson, Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, Mrs Shyamali Wijesekara awarded a special memento to Mrs. Jeewani Guruge and Mrs. Chithra Kumari Ranasinghe separately. Senior Officers and Regimental Council members and batch mates of the outgoing Senior Officers, Staff Officers, Officers of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and their spouses attended the event.
