16 Gajaba Regiment (GR) troops of the 143 Infantry Brigade under the 14 Infantry Division initiated and coordinated a donation of school accessories among kids at Mailankulam Ranmuthu pre-school in Karuwalagaswewa on Wednesday (13 December).
Mr. Thishan Rambukwella and his family members at the request of the 16 GR Commanding Officer sponsored the cost of those essentials to the value of Rs 180,000/=. Eighteen pre-school kids and the pre-school management received those educational aids, inclusive of teaching materials, stationery and accessories needed for both students and teachers.
The Brigade Commander, 143 Infantry Brigade and the Commanding Officer, 16 GR attended the distribution ceremony as Chief Guests. A pre-school kid making a speech thanked the Army for the gesture.
