On a concept of Major General M.K Jayawardena RSP VSV USP ndu, Commander, Security Forces - Mullaittivu, 'The Commander's Cup Softball Cricket Tournament and Badminton Tournament' were held separately at the Security Force HQ- Mullaittivu premises with the aim of improving the sportsmanship of serving officers and other ranks.
The Cricket Tournament took place from 07 Dec 2023 to 10 Dec 2023 with the participation of the teams of 59, 64, 68 Infantry Divisions and the Forward Maintenance Area (Mullaittivu). The final match of the tournament was held on 12 Dec 2023 between 64 and 68 Infantry Division teams. Out of those, the 64 Infantry Division team emerged victorious, clinching the championship title. The runner-up position went to the 68 Infantry Division team.
Additionally, Badminton Tournament of Officers was conducted from 09 Dec 2023 and 10 Dec 2023. Major General M.K Jayawardena RSP VSV USP ndu, Commander, SFHQ -Mullaitivu presented medals, trophies, and certificates to the winners on the final day.
Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the awarding ceremony.
