Troops of the Security Force Headquarters-Central (SFHQ-C), considering mental and physical impact on landslide-hit Kalipanawela villagers in Koslanda arranged a mobile medical clinic on Wednesday (13 December), just a day after more than 250 civilians were displaced after their houses were badly struck by a landslide on Monday (11 December).
The devastating earth mounds caused complete destruction to six houses while more than 20 houses remained partly-affected prompting all occupants to seek temporary shelter elsewhere.
A number of elderly individuals, pregnant women, and children were among the displaced, traumatized by the unexpected natural disaster.
Consequently, troops of the SFHQ-C on an initiative taken by the Commander, Security Forces-Central facilitated the conduct of a health clinic for those displaced, currently housed at Koslanda area with the participation of physicians, psychologists, nurses, dispensers and minor staff where health issues were addressed and solutions to their issues provided along with necessary drugs and consultations.
