22 Infantry Division troops launched the ‘Basic Outboard Motor (OBM) Boat Course - 2 at the 22 Infantry Division HQ premises for under-command troops from 27 November to 9 December.
The Course was conducted by qualified instructors of the 7 Sri Lanka Engineers (SLE) and attended by 34 Other Ranks of under-command units.
During the course, troops were educated on theoretical and practical aspects of operating the OBM boats, identification of the parts of the engine, rectification of defects and engine faults while in operation and emergency measures under any condition in relation to floods or any other situations.
Corporal D.P.D.U.K Wickramasiri of 9 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment secured the first place out of 34 students. The certificate-awarding ceremony was held on 10 December 2023 in the presence of the General Officer Commanding, 22 Infantry Division, Major General P.A.M Peiris RSP USP psc.
