SLCMP Troops Educated on 'Procurement Procedures'

The Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) Regimental Centre conducted a two-day long workshop on 'Procurement Procedures' in order to widen the knowledge of SLCMP Officers and Non Commissioned Officers on the Army procurement procedures and its relevant features during 22-23 Nov 2023.

Altogether, 14 Officers and 52 Noncommissioned Officers who perform island wide provost duties participated in the sessions and the workshop contents included Introduction to Procurement Procedure, Methods of Procurement, Procedure of Calling and Opening Bids, Tender Procedures, Estimation of Boards, Ledger Accounts Finalizing and Reporting, Possible Financial Corruptions and Malpractices of Tenders, etc.

The beginning of the workshop was marked with the opening address of the Colonel Provost of the Directorate of Provost. The intellectual lecture assistance was provided by the immensely qualified resource personnel, Mr. G.S.K Samarathunga, the Chief Accountant, Ministry of Defence. The lecturer also shared the knowledge with his experiences in the field and inspired the audience to solve their complications.

It was launched under the directions of the Provost Marshal of Sri Lanka Army and SLCMP Colonel Commandant, Major General A.C.A De Zoysa USP Hdmc Lsc.

Participating Officers and Other Ranks received certificates in the closing ceremony. Major General A.C.A De Zoysa USP Hdmc Lsc graced the closing occasion as the Chief Guest.

The Centre Commandant, the Colonel Provost of Directorate of Provost, other Senior Officers, Officers and Students of the workshop participated in the closing and awarding ceremony.
