The Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (SLEME) Officers' training day, held once a quarter, was conducted at the SLEME Regimental Headquarters premises on Friday (01 December 2023) with the participation of more than 70 senior officers, officers from all battalions, and base workshops.
In the morning, officers participated in a physical training session and sword drill training. Subsequently, all officers listened to a guest lecture on 'Electrical Automobile Technologies' by Mr. Saman Bandara, an instructor at Korean Tec - Orugudawatta.
Major N.D.G.T Nanayakkara afterwards delivered a lecture on 'Professional Engineering Memberships' to educate officers who participated in the Training Day. Following that, Major K.P.P.C Karunanayaka delivered a lecture on 'Officers Career Development' to provide guidance to their career progression.
Later, Dr. Jayantha Fernando delivered a very informative lecture during the Diners Club event, held in the evening at the Regimental Officers’ mess. The Director General of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, Brigadier S.A.N.J Ariyasena, the Center Commandant, SLEME, Brigadier C. Kalutharaarachchi, Deputy Centre Commandant, Colonel P.D.L.A.C Sirisena RSP, and other senior officers and officers participated in this event.
