SLMA Officer Cadets Interact with Director Overseas Operations for Research

A representative group of Officer Cadets of the Intake 92, 92 (B), SC 20 including a foreign Cadet Officer from Senegal under training at the Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA), Diyatalawa called on Brigadier G.L.S.W Liyanage USP psc, the Director Overseas Operations in the Army Headquarters on Monday (20) November 2023.

Officer Cadets, as a part of the research work of the final presentation in the SLMA before the commissioning interviewed the Director Overseas Operations on the theme ‘Enhancing UN Peacekeeping Capabilities of Sri Lanka Army’ in order to obtain scholarly opinions of the Director Overseas Operations.

As per the day’s itinerary, a brief documentary was screened at the venue to enlighten the Officer Cadets on the roles and tasks of the existing United Nations peacekeeping missions. Later on, several questions on the research topic were posed by the Officer Cadets and the visiting staff officers.

At the end of the interaction, Director, Directorate of Overseas Operations on behalf of all Officers of the Directorate extended best wishes to all Officer Cadets for their future endeavours.
