Eastern Commander Pays Courtesies to Bishop of Batticaloa

Major General M.K.U.P Gunaratne RSP ndu psc IG, the Commander, Security Forces – East (SF-East) called on Bishop of Batticaloa, Rt. Rev Joseph Ponniah on Wednesday (30 Nov) at the Bishop House in Batticaloa.

During the interactions with the Bishop, the Security Forces Commander discussed Civil-Military Coordination projects in the district and ways to further strengthen reconciliation among all ethnicities. Furthermore, both parties discussed the preparations for upcoming Christmas festival celebrations in the area with the coordination of the Eastern Headquarters.

Towards the end of the interactions, the Bishop invoked blessings on the Commander, SF-East and wished him good luck with his future endeavours.

Brigadier K.M.C.S Kumarasinghe, Commander, 243 Infantry Brigade, Colonel T.H.M.D.R.M Peiris RSP psc, Colonel Coordinator, SF-East and Colonel H.H.P.C Halpage, Chief Coordinator Civil Affairs, SF-East and a few Senior Officers were also present at this occasion.
