11 GW Troops Repair Damaged Periyapuliyankulama Tank Bund

The bund of the Periyapuliyankulam tank, situated at 215 C in the Kallikulam Grama Niladhari Division that sustained damage due to continued inclement weather conditions were promptly attended to by 11 Gemenu Watch (GW) troops of the 563 Infantry Brigade in the Omanthai.

Troops utilizing sandbags for reinforcement prevented its further damage on 20 November, despite fast swelling water levels.

Under the direction of Colonel Y.M.S.C.B Jayathilake RSP USP, Commander, 563 Infantry Brigade, the troops 11 Gemenu Watch troops swiftly mobilized to the location and completed the task displaying efficiency and teamwork within a few hours of their arrival.
