Army Disaster Responders Clear the Blocked Rail Track at Diyatalawa

The upcountry railway operation line run from Colombo to Badulla was barricaded due to an earth slip near Diyatalawa railway station during the evening hours on Monday (20 November) as a result of the continuous rainfalls.

In response to the situation, under the instructions of Major General W.W.H.R.R.V.M.N.D.K.B Niyangoda RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc, Commander, Security Forces - Central, troops of the Security Forces Headquarters - Central headed towards the location and cleared the earth mounds and rocks to facilitate the operations along the line.
