Troops of the 4 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) Regiment of the 111 Infantry Brigade under the 11 Infantry Division of the Security Force HQ-Central on 18 November immediately cleared a huge fallen tree that had blocked the traffic along Laggala -Moragahakanda main road at the 40th Mile post following adverse weather conditions.
On the guidelines given by the GOC of the 11 Infantry Division, those SLLI troops under the supervision of the 111 Brigade Commander and the Commanding Officer, 4 SLLI provided their manpower assistance to officials of the Disaster Management Centre and relevant government authorities to clear the tree by chopping it into pieces within the shortest possible time.
Traffic movement was restored within a couple of hours with the assistance of the Police.
