A group of Army personnel including one Officer of the Security Force HQ - Central in Diyatalawa offered their manpower and technical assistance for removal of a huge soil mound and boulders that had blocked the railway track near Diyatalawa Railway station on Friday (17 November) morning.
On being informed, Major General W.W.H.R.R.V.M.N.D.K.B Niyangoda RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc, Commander, Security Forces - Central instructed his troops to assist the restoration of railway movements after removal of those earth elements.
One Officer and 20 Other Ranks attended to the emergency and cleared the blockage within hours.
