The Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West) at Panagoda commemorated its 11th anniversary on 15 November 2023 with a series of events at the SFHQ-West) premises in Panagoda.
A 'Bodhi Puja Pinkama', organized on 14 November 2023 at Bodhirajaramaya Temple at Panagoda transferred merits to the memory of fallen War Heroes, invoked blessings on the wounded, retired Army personnel, serving ones and the SFHQ-West. The Commander Security Forces -West Major General W.H.K.S Peiris RWP RSP USP ndu attended the religious observances with Officers and Other Ranks.
On the anniversary day (15), Brigadier K.T.P De Silva RSP psc, Brigadier General Staff and Brigadier A.M.R Abeysinghe, Brigadier Administration and Quartering welcomed the West Commander at the entrance before 6 Gajaba Regiment troops presented a formal Guard Turnout and a subsequent Guard of Honour a to the Commander, Security Forces -West as a formality.
Next, the West Commander was invited to pose for a group photograph with all ranks in order to mark the importance of the day. After a while, the Commander was invited to add symbolic value to the day by planting a sapling in the SFHQ (West) premises. Subsequently, the West Commander took time off to address the troops.
After the troop address, the West Commander donated 40 dry ration packs to the civil staff working in the SFHQ -West before all the gathering joined for refreshments.
