22 Division Concludes Basic Outboard Motor Boat Training Course No 1

22 Infantry Division of the Security Force HQ – East conducted a special Basic Outboard Motor Boat training for 30 Other Ranks representing search and rescue teams in under-command Brigades and Battalions with the assistance of 7 Field Engineer Regiment during 23 – 31 October 2023.

According to a conceptual notion of Major General G.M.N Perera RWP RSP USP ndc, General Officer Commanding of the 22 Division, the Basic OutBoard Motor (OBM) Boat Training Course – 01 included theoretical and practical aspects of operating of motorboats, identification of the parts, rectification of the faults and operating of the boat under challenging conditions, and specially in flood situations.

Private R.M.S Pushpa Kumara of 15 Sri Lanka Light Infantry achieved the first place in order of merits. The certificate awarding ceremony got underway on Wednesday (01 Oct) in the presence of the General Officer Commanding, 22 Infantry Division, together with Brigadier K.K.S Perakum RWP RSP, Deputy General Officer Commanding of 22 Infantry Division, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks.
