Troops of the 68 Infantry Division of the Security Force HQ - Mullaittivu recently organized an eye clinic for civilians with the assistance of the medical staff at Colombo South Hospital for the civilians living in Puthukudiyiruppu area. During the eye clinic, 125 visually-impaired civilians were identified and referred for consultations.
Afterwards, the 68 Infantry Division with the support of under-command battalion troops distributed spectacles among those identified visually impaired ones on 27 September by visiting their doorstep.
Dr V Sarveshvaran provided the financial contribution for this community project.
