GOC Undertakes His First Visit to 583 Brigade HQ

Major General H.D.W.K.N Eriyagama RWP RSP, General Officer Commanding, 58 Infantry Division after assumption of duties visited the 583 Infantry Brigade at Kurunegala on 18 September 2023.

He was warmly welcomed by Brigadier T.N.K Perera, the Brigade Commander of the 583 Infantry Brigade on his arrival at the entrance.

The visiting GOC of the 58 Infantry Division planted a sapling after a ceremonial Guard Turnout at the entrance. He also appeared for a group photograph to mark the significance of his visit to the 583 Infantry Brigade premises.

Afterwards, the Brigade Commander of the 583 Infantry Brigade, Commanding Officer of the 1 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) and the Commanding Officer of the 6 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) delivered a comprehensive briefing, shedding light on the Brigade’s and Battalion’s responsibilities, tasks and the challenges at present.

Understanding the importance of effective communication, the General Officer Commanding, 58 Infantry Division then addressed the troops, instilling a sense of purpose, discipline and motivation among them.
