To add their share to the commemoration of the World Tourism Day on 27 September 2023, a group 32 Army personnel serving the 243 Infantry Brigade of the 24 Infantry Division cleaned the Kallady Beach patch as a community project.
Troops collected all pollutants and waste matter along the beach with 05 tractors and made it completely neat and tidy. Brigadier K. M. C. S Kumarasinghe, Brigade Commander, 243 Infantry Brigade gave necessary guidelines for the project. Brigade Major of the 243 Infantry Brigade, Major H. M. S. S Dimbulagala carried out the work with the support of more than 30 troops.
