A specially-designed full-day leadership training program was conducted for 119 senior prefects of Homagama Central College, Homagama on Thursday (07) at the Sri Lanka Army Engineer Division, Mattegoda, at the request of the principal of the College.
Following directions of the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, the guidance and supervision of the General Officer Commanding of the Sri Lanka Army Engineer Division, Major General S.A Kulatunge RWP RSP VSV USP psc, enabled the conduct of the leadership programme, meant to further develop students' leadership qualities, teamwork & team building capacities, personality and social etiquettes.
The well-coordinated leadership project encompassed lectures, indoor and outdoor activities and demonstrations on the taught subjects and value-added experiences to obtain success in practical traits of leadership in order to improve the knowledge and skills of the youngsters.
The certificate-awarding ceremony for the prefects was conducted at the end of the project and the General Officer Commanding of Sri Lanka Army Engineer Division graced the event as the Chief Guest along with the Principal of Homagama Central College, Mrs. A.P Adihetti. Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and the tutorial staff also took part in the event.
