A few more than 150 soldiers of the 513 Infantry Brigade on account of the 28th Anniversary of the Brigade voluntarily donated their blood for the benefit of patients at Tellippalai Base Hospital in Jaffna on Saturday (19 August) as one more civil community-oriented project of the troops.
Medical staff at the hospital in coordination with the Security Force Headquarters-Jaffna, 51 Infantry Division and the 513 Infantry Brigade HQ conducted the project as the hospital blood bank has run short of life-saving blood stocks.
The Commander, Security Forces-Jaffna and the General Officer Commanding, 51 Infantry Division gave their blessings to the project. The 513 Infantry Brigade Commander closely supervised the project by visiting the location.
