The ‘Abimansala-1’ wellness resort located at Anuradhapura celebrated its 12th Anniversary on Wednesday (26 July) at the premises under the guidance of Brigadier D.M.K Chakrawarthi RSP, Commandant of ‘Abimansala-1’.
On arrival, the Commandant was warmly welcomed by the staff at ‘Abimansala-1’ after he was greeted in a Guard Turnout salute at the entrance.
Adding memories to the day, he planted a mango sapling in the compound and addressed the troops and residents under rehabilitation before he interacted with everyone during an All Rank lunch.
At the same time, troops arranged an all-night ‘Pirith’ chanting ceremony on the same day, followed by an alms-giving (Heel Dhana) to the members of Maha Sangha the next day morning.
Major General W.P.A.D.W Nanayakkara RSP VSV USP ndu, Commander, Security Forces -Wanni, General Officer Commanding of the 21 Infantry Division, Senior Officers and Officers also took part in those events.
