Major General C.S Munasinghe WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc IG assumed duties as the new General Officers Commanding (GOC) of the 12 Infantry Division, Hambanthota on 4 August during a simple ceremony.
The newly-appointed General Officer Commanding was warmly welcomed to the camp premises by Colonel L.R Wijerathne USP, Colonel General Staff of the 12 Infantry Division after he reviewed the Guard Turnout presented by troops of 12 Infantry Division.
Afterwards, the new GOC placed his signature in a formal document at the auspicious minute and symbolized the official acceptance of the new appointment amidst religious observances.
Moments later, as military formalities, he addressed the troops in the compound before he joined All Ranks for refreshments.
Brigade Commanders, Division Headquarters Staff Officers, Commanding Officers and under command troops were present at the occasion.
