Army Lance Corporal Clinches Best Bodybuilder Trophy in 47th National Games

The bodybuilding event of the 47th National Games, organized by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs took place on Saturday (05 Aug) at the Sports Ministry's Duncan White auditorium with the participation of more than 09 teams representing different provinces of the country.

During the tournament, Army Bodybuilders bagged 02 Gold and 02 Bronze medals. Lance Corporal G.K Maginaarachchi of Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps clinched the Best Bodybuilder trophy.

07 Army sportsmen participated in the tournament under the guidance of Major General M.W.T.C Mettananda USP ndc, Commander, Forward Maintenance Area - East and Chairman, Army Bodybuilding, Weightlifting and Powerlifting Committee.

80 kg Gold Medal - Lance Corporal G.K Magina Arachchi of Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps

65 kg Gold Medal - Corporal K.K.T Thilakarathna of Sri Lanka Signal Corps

75 kg Bronze Medal - Lance Corporal W.M.C Ajith Kumara of Sri Lanka Signal Corps

Over 90 kg Bronze Medal - Staff Sergeant G.W.S.S Kumara of Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps
