23 Infantry Division on its Anniversary Day Takes School Needs to Students at Kirimichchodei

The 23 Infantry Division of the Security Force HQ - East on account of its 26th anniversary staged a community-oriented project by awarding free school books and accessories to most deserving 30 students at Kirimichchodei G.T.M. school on Thursday (20 July), along with a special lunch treat.

A philanthropist, responding positively to the gesture offered Rs 150,000/= for the project at the request of the General Officer Commanding, 23 Infantry Division, Brigadier K.V.P.N Premarathna RSP USP psc. Each relief pack contained school books, accessories, sports items, pens and pencils, etc needed for their studies. After distribution of those gift packs, all those children were provided a sumptuous lunch as a symbol of goodwill and understanding.

Brigadier K.V.N.P Premarathna RSP USP psc, General Officer Commanding, 23 Infantry Division, Commander, 233 Infantry Brigade, Staff Officers of the 23 Infantry Division and 233 Infantry Brigade, Commanding Officer and troops of 6 Gajaba Regiment and several state officials were associated with the event.
