Jaffna Troops Build New Classroom for Students at Primary School

Sponsorship provided by a philanthropist in the area enabled 11 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (11 SLLI) troops of the 513 Infantry Brigade of the 51 Infantry Division under the Security Force HQ-Jaffna to add a new classroom to the Jaffna/Waddu Karthikanya Primary School and vest it in the students on 17 July 2023.

Mr V. Thabotharan, a past student of this school on his own provided financial contribution to the project in consultation with school authorities who in turn had sought the technical expertise and manpower of the Army troops for construction of this new classroom building.

Major K.V.S.S Vithanage, Commanding Officer, 11 SLLI supervised the entire project and brought it to a successful completion within a short span of time for the best interests of the students as it would ease the congestion prevailing in the school for educational purposes.

The guidance of the Commander Security Forces-Jaffna, Major General S.P.K Hettiarachchi RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc, General Officer Commanding, 51 Infantry Division, Major General S.W.B Welagedara RSP USP as well as the close coordination of the Commander, 513 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier M.R Razick RSP, expedited the completion of this humanitarian project.

The Commander 513 Infantry Brigade, Major P.H.S.J Pathirange, Second in Command, 11 SLLI, Commanding Officer, 11 SLLI, Troops, Teachers and Students at WadduKarthikanya Primary School participated in the formal warming of the Army-built new classroom.
