Major General D.K.S.K Dolage USP psc of the Sri Lanka Engineers assumed office as the new General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 59 Infantry Division HQ of the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ- MLT), amid religious blessings at Nandikadaal on Friday (14 July).
The newly-appointed General Officer Commanding of the 59 Division on arrival was received by Staff Officers and saluted in a Guard Turnout, presented by troops as he entered the premises. Subsequently, troops presented a customary Guard of Honour and saluted him.
Afterwards, the new GOC in his new office symbolically signed an official document to mark the assumption of his duties and planted a mango sapling in the compound as a symbol of memory.
A little while later, the new GOC in line with military formalities addressed all Officers and Other Ranks where he expressed his vision for the Division in the future.
Staff Officers, Commanding Officers, Officers and Other Ranks were present during the day's event.
