SLAWC Inter Battalion Drill Competition at Sadunpura Held

The Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps (SLAWC) had its Inter Battalion Drill Competition - 2023 on Tuesday (July 11) at 3 (V) SLAWC premises in Sandunpura where two platoons vied.

The competition was conducted under the guidance of Major General U.D Wijesekera RWP RSP USP rcds psc, Commander, Security Forces - East and Colonel Commandant of SLAWC with the participation of two drill platoons, comprised of 1 SLAWC and 7 SLAWC soldiers in one platoon and 2 (V) SLAWC soldiers, together with 3 (V) SLAWC troops in the other platoon.

After showcasing excellent performances, the joint 2 (V) SLAWC and 3 (V) SLAWC platoon secured the championship in the event.

Lieutenant D.A.D.N Deerasinghe of 7 SLAWC clinched the Best Platoon Commander award and the Warrant Officer II B. Helan was awarded the Best Drill Instructor award for their outstanding performances.

Senior Officers, Officers at SLAWC Regimental HQ, Officers and Other Ranks were present during the event.
